Jose Julio Divino or JJ, joined the team in December 2015 and is based in New York. He was previously Senior Adviser of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology and the Senior Campaigns Officer of the World Stroke Organization. Prior to this, JJ headed the Campaigns and Communications Cluster at the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). He was also the first coordinator of the My Child Matters childhood cancer programme, which is now the most comprehensive operational paediatric oncology initiative in resource-constrained countries. While at the UICC, he represented civil society at the first roundtable on cancer prevention and control during the 57th Session of the Regional Committee for Africa. JJ has also worked at the World Health Organization, the UN World Food Programme, UNAIDS, UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration and at leading multinationals in the healthcare industry. He is a citizen of Switzerland and the USA.
JJ holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Community Health Education from New York University and is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Executive Program.
